About Us

Making Aerospace Education Hands-On, Exciting, and Accessible

Rocketry & Aerospace Camps is a student-founded STEM education program that introduces young learners to rocketry, flight, engineering, and space exploration. Students learn through hands-on experiments, engineering challenges, demonstrations, and launches rather than only through lectures or worksheets.

Our goal is to help students develop curiosity, confidence, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while showing them that engineering and aerospace can be understandable and exciting at any age.

Students understand difficult ideas by building, testing, observing, and improving their own designs.

Activities introduce thrust, drag, lift, stability, propulsion, recovery systems, and the engineering design process.

Summer 2026 Impact

A Strong First Launch

During Summer 2026, Rocketry & Aerospace Camps held three two-day sessions in Morrisville, North Carolina. Across more than 50 hours of full instruction, over 40 young learners participated in hands-on rocketry and aerospace activities.

Campers built and launched rockets, designed parachutes, investigated flight and stability, completed engineering challenges, and learned how real aerospace systems work.

Meet the Founder

Turning Curiosity Into Real Engineering Experience

Vedant Patel is a rising senior at Research Triangle High School and the founder and lead instructor of Rocketry & Aerospace Camps. He is passionate about making STEM approachable through hands-on building, testing, and iteration, especially for young learners ages 7–11.

Vedant is part of the Research Triangle High School Space Program, the school’s American Rocketry Challenge team, where he serves as fabrication lead. He also has fabrication and mechanical experience with FRC Team 4561, the TerrorBytes. His engineering work includes CAD, CNC machining, 3D printing, prototyping, rocket design and testing, and mechanical fabrication.

He competes on the Varsity Science Olympiad team in the Helicopter and Electric Vehicle events, where he explores flight, engineering design, and performance-based problem-solving. Through Rocketry & Aerospace Camps, Vedant designs the curriculum and leads engaging activities that help students turn curiosity into real engineering experience.
